The Village Hall Management Team continue to work hard trying to improve our community facility.
After 20 years of planning and many disappointments along the way, yes it has taken that long! We now have a large unisex disabled cloakroom and baby changing facility. We have also managed to extend our small kitchen area.
We would like to thank our existing hirers for being patient with us and hope that they will resume their groups in the hall. Our prices remain very competitive £15.00 an hour to hirers for those outside Fordham, £12.00 an hour to those who live in the village, but a fantastic fee of £10.00 an hour if you have a regular weekly hire.
Our village hall is over 100 years old and needs constant maintenance; so we need to constantly raise funds for this outlay and to make improvements.
We have plans to replace the cold floors in the main hall and lobby, build a new carp park out the back of the hall, as we do lack parking space and remove the old storage room and shed and build a new storeroom. So there is much still to think about and our small committee of Trustees will continue to work hard to see these plans come to fruition in the future.
Fordham Times is now published quarterly and it has a new editor. The F.T. is now available online on the Fordham Parish Council website, on the Fordham Village Facebook page.
If you would like a paper copy there are copies in the bus shelter at the village hall and you can still have a copy delivered if you contact the parish council.
Please contact the new editor - The Parish Council Clerk on:- clerk@fordham-pc.gov.uk if you have any articles for publishing in the next edition.
Well done to the Management Team who organised the Christmas Bazaar. We raised £177.59 for hall funds.
The Jingle & Mingle raffle raised £61 for funds with a further £153 coming from the wreath making raffle, both events at the beginning of December. Many thanks.
